Bible Verses About Waiting on God
The test result, the prodigal child, the prayer you’ve prayed for years — waiting is where most of the life of faith actually happens. Scripture treats waiting not as wasted time, but as holy ground.
Psalm 27:14 is the Bible’s steady counsel for the long wait — “Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD!” — and Lamentations 3:25 adds, “The LORD is good to those who wait for Him.”

But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
I wait for the LORD; my soul does wait, and in His word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning—more than watchmen wait for the morning.
For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men prosper in their ways, when they carry out wicked schemes.
But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.
Rest in God alone, O my soul, for my hope comes from Him.
Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore He rises to show you compassion, for the LORD is a just God. Blessed are all who wait for Him.
